Understanding the essence(s) of portfolio based learning. A collaborative international seminar, the University of Edinburgh, 6-8 June 2016

This intentionally global Seminar, the first jointly organised by the Centre for Recording Achievement (UK) and the Association for Authentic, Experiential and Evidence-Based Learning (USA), will take place in the wonderful setting of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. One of the world’s leading Universities,  Edinburgh was an intellectual cradle for the Age of Enlightenment and can boast amongst its many famous alumni signatories of the US declaration of independence, Charles Darwin, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Julius Nyerere, the first president of Tanzania.

The seminar will provide a blended format, a purposeful mix of whole event working within a colloquium setting and conventional workshops and seminars grouped by themes.  It will provide opportunities for:

  1. The sharing of innovative and evidence-informed practice.
  2. The further development of a broadly-based international network to support and advance eportfolio implementation.
  3. The development of a shared agenda for practitioner-centred action research.

Taken together, over the three days, participants will be supported and enabled to purposefully extend their views of effective e-portfolio practice.  The Seminar Dinner will take place in the National Gallery of Scotland, which houses one of the best collections of fine art in the world.  And we have accommodation at discounted rates available to participants and those who accompany them.

We offer an exciting list of plenary contributors, almost 50 proposals from around the world, a pre-seminar webinar ‘just for participants’ that will provide perspectives from across the globe, a seminar dinner in the National Gallery of Scotland and the wonderful setting of the University of Edinburgh.  You can now:
